No dancing on Thanksgiving. Because our hall is in a Serbian Orthodox church, there is typically no dancing the first Thursday in January (their Xmas) or the last Thursday in January (St. Sava celebration). Other holidays honored when appropriate. |

7:30- 8:00 PM |
Dances for beginners. Some teaching, some easy dances that most beginners can do without a lot of instruction. New beginners always welcome to join.

| 8:00- 8:15 PM |
"Gathering" dances while experienced dancers arrive. Still easy dances for warm-up, socializing. Dances taught to the beginners in the first hour will be repeated so that all can dance together. |

| 8:15- 8:30 PM |
A medium difficulty dance will be taught, that will challenge beginning dancers, but be fairly easy for experienced dancers. | ||
| 8:30- 9:00 PM |
Practice of dances recently taught. | ||
| 9:00- 9:20 PM |
One more dance is taught, typically more challenging than earlier dances. Sometimes this is a couple dance, a square dance, or a contra dance.

Open dancing, more requests. Dances become increasingly more difficult. |

Very wide range of musical tastes, but about 60% is Eastern European/Middle Eastern, but sprinkled liberally with Scottish country dances, Country-Western line dances, Japanese, French Canadian, Russian, etc. Definitely no dance purists or dance snobs. 80% non-partner dances. Lots of easy dancers and mixers. Class is very friendly and kind and helpful to beginners. | ||

I use a request board. If you can't remember the name of a dance show me some steps or hum some of the music. I've been teaching for over 30 years and dancing for 40, and I can usually figure out the dance you want. | ||

Lovely wood floor. Ventilation can be challenging due to a lack of windows, but we have a lot of fans. |

Varies from 40-55; 60% women, 40% men.
Average age about 50; age range from late-20's to mid-80's (several dancers are over 80 years old!). |
