Dance Background And Training

I started out in modern dance in high school and college. I switched to international folk dancing after college. I began to specialize in Israeli dancing in my mid-20's.

My first dance classes were for junior high school students in an after-school program. My Thursday night dance class was my first class for adults. We've been at the same location since 1980.

The Monday night dance class started with eight women in my local synagogue. We had to move to a larger dance space when the class grew to over 40. Another dance space was required when the class had over 70 participants and the neighbors began to complain about the noise. We've been in our current space since February 1989.

I currently attend four or five Israeli dance camps each year. They are all "long weekend" camps (typically Friday afternoon through Monday early afternoon). I also attend two international dance camps. One is a long weekend and the other is a full week (Stockton International Dance Camp at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California - over 50 years old). I also pick up new material from videos.

If you are interested in finding out more about dance camps, or want to
attend one, contact me for more information or refer to the websites listed in the Links section of this website.
